At times, you might not feel confident to open up in your intimate relationship, you might feel stuck, not connected, unfulfilled, not enough, and you might not know why. You might be arguing with your partner over and over about the same issues and constantly feeling misunderstood, stuck, criticized and not heard in your relationship. Kiara teaches couples why emotional safety is important, the implications of not having emotional trust, and the steps to build emotional safety. Kiara helps couples strengthen their communication skills to go from arguments to healthier discussions while increasing their intimacy emotionally and physically.
In working with couples, Kiara Luna, LMHC uses the Gottman approach which has been around since the 1980s. Kiara has completed the Level 3 Practicum Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and will be starting the certification track. What Kiara loves most about this approach is that it includes many different types of therapeutic interventions to strengthen relationships, as Kiara believes that in order for therapy to be most effective there must be a mixture of interventions and techniques used to meet clients needs and Gottman has that.
In addition, this couples counseling is grounded in what they called the Sound Relationship House Theory. Put simply, building a Sound Relationship House means to create a happy, healthy, thriving relationship. Kiara also helps couples identify how childhood wounds may show up in their relationship and how to help each other heal those wounds
