My dream has always been to have a positive impact on as many lives as possible. The most obvious way for me to achieve this was to become a therapist. I believe that everyone deserves having an individual in their life that is there to offer support and guidance without judgement and shame. To be that person, I create a safe and trustworthy environment to explore your emotions, thoughts and behaviors. I love having the ability to help others gain more insight about themselves and the situations they are facing, while exploring how their past experiences impact their current lives. Some particular areas of interest for me are helping women build self confidence, exploring early family dynamics and their impact on present day issues, enhancing romantic relationship dynamics, and addressing trauma. I look forward to working with you!
Therapy is a journey that both you and I embark on together to identify and achieve goals that you have for yourself. My familiarity with various cultures contributes to my ability to interact and engage well with others, and bring the necessary empathy and compassion needed in the therapeutic process. Some of the interventions I utilize are CBT, Client Centered Therapy, Motivational interviewing techniques, Schema Therapy, Gottman (Level 3), EMDR, DBT, bibliotherapy, among others depending on the need of the individual, couple, and/or family dynamic. In addition, I can also implement a coaching approach to assist individuals in growing self-awareness and building new coping skills to manage difficult situations. This ultimately positively impacts problem solving skills and helps unlock individuals’ highest potential.I am an active and engaged therapist that draws from different therapeutic styles and techniques depending on what works for you! I value creating a space where you feel comfortable to be vulnerable and explore what you want to work on. With over the decade of working in the mental health field I have worked successfully with diverse populations, building strong connections through compassion and goal oriented work.
I completed my Master in Psychology at Mercy College. I then decided to continue on my educational path and attended State University at Buffalo to complete my Masters in Mental Health Counseling. I have worked in the field of Mental Health for nearly a decade now, providing a wide range of services to individuals and families in need. During this time, I have had the opportunity to successfully work with individuals, families, and couples to support growth, improve communication, address traumatic experiences, develop boundary setting skills, gain empowerment, and explore relationship dynamics.

Growing up, I remember being passionate about supporting those around me. Whether that was through laughter, simply listening, or even advising friends and family. I hoped to continue to do this, and for me, that was through becoming a therapist. My educational experiences further fueled this desire, as I learned that therapy is not always about having intense moments, but therapy is also about exploring the positive contributions within us. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been intrigued by human behavior and how we cope with the challenges of our everyday lives. I saw anything that could provide me with more insight about myself, as something that gave me more power; power to tap into my strengths, power to confront challenges, and power to choose things that were more in alignment with my desires. This slight obsession with introspection made me very attracted to watching talk shows as I loved seeing how hosts would assist guests in overcoming their unique challenges. I was in awe of how an hour of vulnerable conversations could help guests unlock a level of understanding of themselves that would allow them to exhale long held sighs of relief, as well as promote their experience of healing and self-acceptance. These “ah-ha” moments are what fueled my desire to become a therapist. I knew that I wanted to help people in their greatest moments of need so they could experience self-awareness, self-acceptance and healing. As a therapist I greatly enjoy helping my clients tend to the needs of their emotional lives so that they feel empowered to live abundantly and authentically. I am particularly interested in working with emerging adults to explore how personal, familial, environmental and societal influences affect the decisions we make and impact our efforts towards self-actualization. I look forward to working with you!
I wholeheartedly believe that our emotional well-being is of vital importance to our overall health. We deserve to take care of ourselves by pursing joy, peace and freedom and healing in all the ways that are meaningful to us. Therapy is a transformative means towards this end and while the journey may be a difficult one, it is well worth it. As a clinician I believe it is my responsibility to accompany, encourage and hold space for you as you press forward throughout this therapeutic journey. I will work with you in a collaborative manner to identify how we can help you live your life in an authentic and fulfilling manner. My approach is grounded in person-centered therapy where you will be empowered to tap into your capacity to achieve personal growth and change in all the ways you desire it. I also appeal to other modalities including feminist therapy and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) to help address problems in your life. Additionally, using the tenants of psychodynamic theory, I can help you examine how your initial relationships with your caregivers and other family members influence your self-view, world view, and how this creates the framework for how you engage in relationships with others.
I completed my bachelor’s degree in American Studies at Williams College and thereafter I obtained my Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Relay Graduate School of Education in order to launch my career in education. As a newcomer in the field of mental health, I have enjoyed working with individuals to navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, and life concerns such navigating interpersonal relationships, employment, family dynamics, identity, and self-worth.
